9) The Fall of Babylon
The end of the apostate religious system
Revelation 17 and 18 describe the fall of Babylon, the apostate religious system that opposes God. The call is to come out of her before her final destruction.
The Great Harlot
Where is the great harlot seated?
How is the woman clothed?
What is written on her forehead?
“Babylon means confusion. It represents the system of religious apostasy that mixes truth with error, paganism with Christianity, and opposes God’s faithful people.” — Ellen G. White, The Great Controversy, p. 381
The Sins of Babylon
With whom did the harlot commit fornication?
With what is she intoxicated?
To where have the sins of Babylon reached?
The Call to Come Out
What does God command His people?
Why should we come out of Babylon?
The Destruction of Babylon
How will Babylon be destroyed?
What is the reaction of heaven to Babylon's fall?
And Now?
Babylon will be destroyed:
- It is an apostate system: Mixes truth with error
- It persecuted the saints: Intoxicated with their blood
- God calls His people: To come out of her
- It will be destroyed: Quickly and completely
My Decision
I heed God’s call to come out of Babylon. I do not want to participate in her sins or receive her plagues. I choose to follow the pure truth of God’s Word, separating myself from all religious confusion.
