2) The Statue of Nebuchadnezzar
The dream of Daniel 2 and the world empires
King Nebuchadnezzar’s dream in Daniel 2 is one of the most impressive prophecies in the Bible. A statue made of different metals reveals the succession of world empires from Babylon to the end of time.
The King’s Dream
Why was Nebuchadnezzar troubled?
What did the king demand from his wise men?
Who revealed the dream to Daniel?

“Prophecy has traced the rise and progress of the world’s great empires—Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece, and Rome.” — Ellen G. White, Prophets and Kings, p. 535, par. 1.

The Divided Feet
What did the feet of iron and clay represent?
Would the divided kingdoms try to unite again?
Even after the fall of Rome, the prophecy highlights that human divisions would remain fragile. There would be attempts at union through alliances and political power, but the Word had already declared: “they shall not cleave one to another” (Daniel 2:43).
The Stone
What does the stone cut out without hands represent?
And Now?
The prophecy of Daniel 2 confirms God’s Word:
- Four empires: Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece, Rome
- Division of Rome: Europe remains divided until today
- God’s kingdom will come: The stone will destroy all human kingdoms
- We can trust: History confirms the prophecy
My Decision
I acknowledge that God has precisely fulfilled the historical stages already revealed in Daniel 2. This strengthens my faith that He will also fulfill the promise of His eternal kingdom, represented by the stone that will fill the whole earth.
