God the Father: character, care, and government according to the Bible
The Bible reveals the Father as Creator, sustainer, and source of love, not as a figure distant from human life.
Speaking about God the Father is more than using a religious title. The Bible presents the Father as the One from whom life proceeds, who sustains creation, and who acts with justice and mercy.
Many people imagine God as distant, severe, or indifferent. Scripture shows another reality. The Father governs the universe, but He also draws near to the sinner, calls to repentance, and reveals His love supremely through Christ.
The Father is not separated from salvation
Jesus did not come to convince a reluctant Father to love humanity. The gospel teaches that the Father Himself loved the world and sent the Son. This changes the way we look at God. The cross does not hide the Father’s character; it reveals it.
When Christ forgives, heals, and receives repentant sinners, He shows what the Father is like. Therefore, to know Jesus is to know the heart of God.
Reverence and trust walk together
God’s fatherhood should not be reduced to sentimentality. The Father is holy, just, and sovereign. At the same time, His authority is not abuse, coldness, or arbitrariness. He calls His children to obedience because He desires to restore life.
Biblical faith learns to unite reverence and trust. The Christian approaches God with humility, but also with confidence, because the Father knows, hears, and guides.
